Illinois State poster revised to update Workers’ Compensation change.
The Illinois Workers’ Compensation poster has been updated to reflect that if an employer notifies an employee that it has an approved Preferred Provider Program (PPP) for workers’ compensation medical assistance, the PPP counts as one of the two choices of medical providers.
Statutory language regarding this posting: House Bill 1698, signed by Governor Pat Quinn, created workers’ compensation provider networks to ensure that employees receive cost-effective treatment that improves patient outcomes. An employee, when getting medical assistance may choose two physicians, surgeons, or hospitals, but if the employer notifies the employee that it has an approved Preferred Provider Program for workers’ compensation, the PPP counts as one of the two choices of providers.
Effective Date: November 2011
The new poster will be available November 28, 2011.
This is a mandatory change affecting all businesses in Illinois. All employers must update their state posters.
